CVE-2023-1749Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Device action execution via unverified device identifiers

Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Authorization bypass in affected Nexx Smart Home firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute actions on other users' devices. The cloud API accepts a user-controlled deviceId in timer and schedule requests without verifying that the device belongs to the requesting account. A valid Nexx account and target deviceId are required; successful requests can arm or disarm alarms, operate plugs, or open garage doors.
