Prometheus service interruption via unrestricted queries

Uncontrolled resource consumption in GitLab allows remote attackers to interrupt the bundled Prometheus service through crafted queries. The Prometheus integration proxy accepts arbitrary query expressions instead of restricting requests to configured queries, allowing expensive range queries to saturate processor resources and leave Prometheus unresponsive. Any user with project access can reach the proxy, including unauthenticated users of public projects, when the Prometheus integration and an environment are configured.
