CVE-2023-1636Network attack vector

Cross-service data access via shared container namespaces

Published Sep 24, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Information disclosure in OpenStack Barbican containers allows remote authenticated users to access cross-service data in all-in-one deployments. The containers reuse the host and other OpenStack services' CGROUP, USER, and NET namespaces, removing boundaries around interservice traffic. Exploitation requires a compromised service with container access and exposes data transmitted to and from Barbican, with limited integrity and availability effects also reported.
