CVE-2023-1625Network attack vector

Hidden parameter disclosure via unmasked stack environment

Published Sep 24, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Information disclosure in OpenStack Heat before 20.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read hidden stack parameters through stack show. The Heat engine's get_environment method returns raw_template.environment without loading the parameter schema or masking fields marked hidden. A valid cloud account with permission to inspect the target stack is required, and exposure is limited to values stored in that stack environment.
