Arbitrary file deletion via CSRF and unconfined path
Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
CSRF in WPCode Lite before 2.0.9 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary server files by inducing an authorized user to open a crafted URL. The administrative log-deletion action accepts the log parameter without verifying that its resolved path remains inside the expected logs directory. A logged-in victim with the wpcode_activate_snippets capability must open the link, and deletion remains limited by server filesystem permissions.
