CVE-2023-1618Network attack vector

Unauthenticated access via factory-enabled hidden Telnet

Published May 19, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Active debug code in Mitsubishi Electric WS0-GETH00200 serial 2310 **** and prior lets remote attackers bypass authentication over Telnet. The factory configuration leaves a hidden Telnet debug function enabled, accepting an unauthorized login instead of rejecting the connection. Network reachability to Telnet is sufficient; the resulting session can reset the module and, under additional conditions, read or alter configuration or rewrite firmware.
