User redirection via unvalidated feed image URL
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Open redirect in REBUILD 3.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to redirect other users through a crafted feed image. FeedsPostController.publish accepts an attacker-chosen image URL, and FileDownloader.viewImg redirects to the extracted path without restricting its destination. Exploitation requires feed-publishing access and a user to click the resulting download link, which navigates the browser to the chosen site.
