Database compromise via injectable sort parameter
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in Novel-Plus 3.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database data through a crafted sort parameter. The common/log/list handler incorporates the attacker-controlled sort value into SQL ordering logic without neutralizing SQL syntax, changing the database command. A highly privileged account and network access to the management endpoint are required; successful injection can disclose, modify, or delete application data.
