CVE-2023-1534Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Heap corruption via ANGLE sampler-name parsing

Published Mar 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in ANGLE in Google Chrome before 111.0.5563.110 allows remote attackers with renderer control to corrupt heap memory. SpvGetMappedSamplerName copies a crafted uniform sampler name while scanning bracketed array elements without first proving that a closing bracket lies within the string. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page, user interaction, and prior renderer compromise; the reported consequence is heap corruption within the browser process.
