Heap corruption via unvalidated VideoFrame layout parameters
Published Mar 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in GPU Video in Google Chrome before 111.0.5563.110 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via crafted HTML. The media::mojom::VideoFrame deserializer accepts attacker-controlled stride and offset parameters without validating them against the backing buffer. A user must load the crafted page; malformed frame metadata drives GPU Video to read outside allocated memory, exposing data or destabilizing the browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
