Administrator stored XSS via unsanitized notification setting
Published May 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Stored XSS in Gemini Labs Site Reviews before 6.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The notification_message setting accepts an injected closing textarea and script element, stores the value, and renders it without effective sanitization or output escaping when the settings page opens. Administrator access is required to save the payload, and a later visit to the settings page triggers it even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
