Administrator-session script execution via unescaped page parameter
Published Apr 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Reflected XSS in MetaSlider Slideshow 3.29.0 allows remote attackers to execute scripts in an administrator's browser via a crafted request. The admin/Table.php view outputs the WordPress admin page parameter without sanitization or context-appropriate escaping, turning a submitted value into executable markup. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to load and submit attacker-controlled content, and the script runs with that administrator's WordPress session privileges.
