CVE-2023-1450Public exploit

Local utility crash via zero track timescale

Published Mar 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025

Denial of service in MP4v2 2.1.2 mp4trackdump allows local users to crash the utility by processing a crafted MP4 file. DumpTrack divides a derived millisecond timestamp by the MP4 track timescale without rejecting a zero value, which raises SIGFPE. Exploitation requires local execution of mp4trackdump against the malicious file and interrupts only that utility process.
