Unauthenticated command execution via untrusted RPC pointers
Published Aug 2, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Untrusted pointer dereference in Advantech WebAccess/SCADA before 9.1.4 allows remote attackers to execute commands through RPC. The built-in RPC server accepts client-supplied raw memory pointers as arguments and dereferences them as-is. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation grants remote file-system access, command execution, and file overwrite.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
