CVE-2023-1425Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Database data extraction via unescaped orderby parameter

Published Apr 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025

SQL injection in Groundhogg before 2.7.9.4 allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to read WordPress database data. The contacts administration page places the user-controlled orderby query parameter into an existing SQL statement without sufficient sanitization, escaping, or preparation. An administrator or Groundhogg custom role can submit a crafted sort expression that executes a database delay function and supports sensitive-data extraction.
