Authenticated tour modification via unchecked AJAX action
Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Missing authorization in WP VR before 8.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary virtual tours through an AJAX request. The wpvr_save handler accepts a caller-supplied postid and panodata payload without a capability check or CSRF validation. Subscriber access is sufficient to replace the selected tour's stored scene images and content.
