Stored XSS via misordered author-name escaping
Published Jun 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Weaver Theme Weaver Show Posts 1.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via a profile display name. In includes/atw-showposts-sc.php, esc_attr runs before sprintf inserts get_the_author output, leaving the displayed author name unescaped. Contributor-level access is required, and the script runs when another user views or previews an affected post, enabling actions in that user's session.
