Database read and modification via unescaped identifier
Published Mar 10, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in LmxCMS 1.41 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database data through the BookAction reply endpoint. The reply function in BookAction.class.php incorporates the id request argument into a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax, allowing a crafted updatexml expression to execute in the database context. A valid low-privilege session is required; successful exploitation is bounded to data and operations available to the application's database account.
