Stored XSS via unsanitized system email
Published Mar 10, 2023 · Updated Mar 3, 2025
Stored XSS in osTicket before 1.16.6 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user’s browser through a system email. The System Email update path in include/class.email.php saves the email field without sanitization and later displays the stored value. Administrator-level access is required to alter the system email, and another user must view the resulting content; execution can expose browser-accessible data or alter page content.
