Stored script execution via unencoded PDF preview text
Published Mar 9, 2023 · Updated Feb 28, 2025
Stored XSS in Pimcore before 10.5.19 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through PDF preview text. The Web-to-Print PDF preview grid renderer returns text-type record values as HTML without applying Ext.util.Format.htmlEncode. High-privileged access is required to store the value, and a user must view the preview; successful script can alter that browser page or interrupt its use.
