Code execution via manipulated ACL metadata
Published Mar 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Code injection in OTRS 7.0.x before 7.0.42 and 8.0.x before 8.0.31, and Community Edition through 6.0.34, allows local users to execute code. ACL creation and import treat manipulated comment and ACL-name content as executable code instead of validating it as data. Exploitation requires high privileges and user interaction; successful code can read or alter data in another security scope.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
