Heap corruption via overflowed Metrics allocation
Published Mar 7, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Heap buffer overflow in Google Chrome before 111.0.5563.64 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory through a crafted HTML page. The Metrics ActivityUserData constructor uses an overflow-prone size calculation in PersistentMemoryAllocator, leaving an undersized allocation for subsequent writes. The renderer process must already be compromised, and the public artifact demonstrates a crash rather than code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
