CVE-2023-1189Public exploit

Local Windows crash via unchecked IOCTL buffer

Published Mar 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Denial of service in WiseCleaner Wise Folder Hider 4.4.3.202 allows local users to crash Windows through crafted driver requests. The WiseFs64.sys handleControlDeviceIoctl routine processes IOCTL codes 0x222400, 0x222404, and 0x222410 without validating a null buffer, then dereferences it in kernel context. A low-privileged local account must open the \.\WiseFS device and issue one of those requests; successful exploitation triggers a null-pointer fault and a Windows blue-screen crash.
