Stored script execution via unsanitized configuration fields
Published Mar 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 7, 2025
Stored XSS in FlatPress before 1.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through general blog settings. The configuration save handler decodes HTML entities in the title, subtitle, and footer fields before persisting them without output-safe encoding. Administrator access is required to store a payload, which then runs in the browser context of people who view affected blog content.
