Stored script execution via unescaped configuration values
Published Mar 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 7, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in FlatPress before 1.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through configuration values. The configuration panel's onsave() handler stores author and email POST values without HTML encoding, allowing later rendering as active markup. An authenticated account able to save general configuration is required, and execution can expose or alter data available to a victim's browser session.
