Cross-user ticket modification via unchecked post_ID
Published May 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
IDOR in Waseem Senjer Ruby Help Desk before 1.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to modify other users' support tickets. The ticket-update handler trusts the user-controlled post_ID value without verifying that the selected ticket belongs to the requester. Subscriber-level access and one owned ticket are sufficient to enumerate sequential ticket IDs, close other users' tickets, and add files or replies.
