Stored cross-site scripting via unsanitized full names
Published Mar 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 7, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Simple Payroll System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The save_admin action accepts the fullname POST value, stores embedded script markup, and later renders that value on admin/?page=admin without output encoding. Administrator privileges are required to save the record, and the injected JavaScript runs when the administrator listing is revisited, allowing page content modification in that browser.
