Arbitrary file deletion via unsanitized Media Manager filename
Published Mar 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Path traversal in FlatPress before 1.3 allows remote authenticated users to delete files outside Media Manager storage. Media Manager's doItemActions function joins the name portion of the deletefile query parameter to a storage path without removing traversal sequences. Administration-panel access is required, and a crafted name can delete a server-writable file outside the attachments, images, or gallery directory.
