CVE-2023-1081Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unfiltered onbeforeinput handler

Published Feb 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in Microweber before 1.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via saved HTML. The XSSClean::clean sanitizer omits the onbeforeinput event-handler attribute from its removal list, allowing executable markup to persist. Administrator-level privileges are required to store the payload, and another user must interact with the affected content; execution can expose or modify data available to that browser session.
