CVE-2023-1049

Code execution via unvalidated VXDZ configuration strings

Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

Code injection in EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert and Pro-face BLUE 3.3 SP1 and earlier allows attackers to execute code. The VXDZ parser in simulation mode executes an unvalidated user-controlled string from configuration name:value pairs as code. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted local project file, and the injected code runs with that user's privileges.
