Order-price manipulation via trusted amount parameter
Published Feb 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper access control in SourceCodester Alphaware Simple E-Commerce System 1.0 allows remote attackers to alter an order's total. The payment handler in /alphaware/summary.php trusts the amount parameter supplied in the payment URL and applies it as the price for the entire order. Reaching the payment URL for an order is sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is order-price manipulation, not arbitrary data access or code execution.
