CVE-2023-0978

Local command execution via unvalidated CLI arguments

Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Command injection in the Trellix Intelligent Sandbox CLI 5.0 through 5.2 allows local users to execute arbitrary operating system commands. A specific CLI command accepts specially crafted argument strings without sufficient validation; Trellix has not publicly identified the command. Exploitation requires high privileges and local CLI access; successful injection runs attacker-chosen commands with the CLI process's privileges.
