CVE-2023-0970

Code execution via Serial API buffer overflows

Published Jun 21, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Buffer overflows in the Serial API of Silicon Labs Z/IP Gateway 7.18.01 and earlier allow physically proximate attackers to execute code. Silicon Labs has not published the affected functions or the unchecked Serial API fields that overwrite and read beyond global-memory buffers. Exploitation requires invasive physical access to a Z-Wave controller device and can corrupt global memory, disclose data, or execute code in the gateway context.
