Authenticated SQL injection via unescaped metabox parameters
Published Mar 27, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
SQL injection in the REST metabox endpoint in VeronaLabs WP Statistics before 14.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL. The endpoint accepts crafted type or ID values for the pages-chart metabox, and the unescaped value reaches its database query. Access normally requires manage_options, although sites can grant statistics viewing to lower-privileged roles; the demonstrated result is a database-induced delay.
