Unauthenticated account enumeration via password-reset response
Published Feb 18, 2023 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
Information exposure in Pixelfed before 0.11.4 allows remote attackers to enumerate registered email addresses through password resets. The password-reset email template repopulates its input from Laravel's retained request value after a failed submission, creating a response distinction for registered addresses. No authentication or user interaction is required; disclosure is limited to account and email validity for follow-on targeting.
