Code execution via malicious application-directory DLL
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Uncontrolled DLL search in all versions of GE Vernova MiCOM S1 Agile allows local users to execute code from a malicious DLL. The application searches its application directory for a required library and loads an attacker-placed DLL instead of the intended dependency. Exploitation requires high local privileges and user interaction; the malicious library then runs with the application's privileges.
