Stored script execution via unchecked logo uploads
Published Feb 17, 2023 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Stored XSS in BTCPay Server before 1.7.12 allows attackers to execute script in another user's browser through a crafted logo upload. Logo upload handlers trusted client-supplied image MIME types and stored content without verifying its file signature or extension. Access to a server or store logo setting and subsequent loading by another user are required, exposing browser-accessible data and actions in that user's session.
