Stored XSS via unescaped status names
Published Jun 27, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Stored XSS in Kanban Boards for WordPress before 2.5.21 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in logged-in users' browsers. The status-name setting accepts script markup and later renders it on the front-end board without sanitizing the stored value or escaping output. Administrator access is required to plant the payload, and a logged-in user must open the affected board; exposure is limited to WordPress setups without unfiltered_html.
