Authenticated code execution via traversed upload path
Published Feb 16, 2023 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Path traversal in NetModule AG NRSW allows remote authenticated users to execute elevated commands through a malicious PHP upload. The /home/www-data/admin/include/sdkJobs.php handler appends the unvalidated scriptName field to UPLOAD_DIR and passes that path to move_uploaded_file. Administrative authentication is required; traversal into the web root permits PHP execution, and the same flaw also permits arbitrary file deletion.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.3.0.0 <4.3.0.119
- Affected versionversion=4.4.0.0 <4.4.0.118
