Buffer overflow in NetBIOS QNAME processing in Canon printer firmware 11.04 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. Canon identifies the QNAME registration and communication path as the locus but has not disclosed the operation that writes beyond the buffer. Access to the same network segment is required; successful exploitation can also leave the device unresponsive.
