Code execution via CPCA resource download overflow
Published May 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Canon office printers with firmware 11.04 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The CPCA Resource Download process writes network-supplied resource data beyond a heap buffer, although Canon has not disclosed the affected routine or missing bounds check. Access to the printer's network segment is sufficient; exploitation can make the device unresponsive or execute arbitrary code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
