Credential disclosure via echoed invalid header values
Published Sep 27, 2023 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Information disclosure in OkHttp before 4.9.2 in Red Hat AMQ Streams allows local users to read secrets from invalid-header exceptions. Header-value validation throws an IllegalArgumentException whose message includes the complete rejected value, including Authorization or Proxy-Authorization credentials. Local users need low privileges and access to the resulting exception or logs; exposed values can include reusable authentication material.
