CVE-2023-0824Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored cross-site scripting via CSRF field update

Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in UserPlus 2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to persist script code through an administrator's browser. The userplus_admin_update_field AJAX action accepts an untrusted help_text value without a CSRF token check, sanitization, or output escaping. A logged-in administrator must submit the attacker-controlled request; the payload then executes when the affected profile-field help text is opened.
