Authenticated user-meta disclosure via unchecked shortcode attributes
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Information disclosure in Cozmoslabs Profile Builder 3.9.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive user metadata. The wppb_toolbox_usermeta_handler() callback passes attacker-controlled user_id and key attributes to $user->get() without checking authorization for that metadata. Subscriber-level access and the optional Usermeta shortcode setting are required; exposed values can enable takeover of a higher-privileged account.
