CVE-2023-0808Public exploit

Device access via immutable hard-coded Wi-Fi key

Published Feb 13, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in Inverter firmware MW3_15U_5406_1.47 and MW3_15U_5406_1.471 allow physically proximate attackers to join its access point. The Access Point Setting Handler accepts the fixed key 12345678 because its save control neither disables the access point nor changes the key. Wireless proximity is required; after joining the recognizable device network, an attacker can issue an AT command that discloses the configured home Wi-Fi credentials.
