Authenticated request crash via invalid email
Published Feb 12, 2023 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
Uncaught exception handling in phpMyFAQ before 3.1.11 allows remote authenticated users to crash request handling with an invalid email address. The admin user-update path in phpmyfaq/admin/user.php accepts a failed FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL result and continues into user-data operations instead of rejecting it. Access to the user-management action is required, and the unhandled error interrupts the affected request; the patch does not disclose broader data effects.
