Stored XSS via unsanitized gallery image metadata
Published Apr 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Stored XSS in BestWebSoft Gallery before 4.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via crafted gallery image data. The plugin saves gllr_image_text and gllr_image_alt_tag POST values without proper sanitization, then renders them in gallery image attributes. An Author account can store the payload, but execution requires a visitor to load the affected gallery, exposing that visitor's browser session to attacker-controlled script.
