Subscriber-level post disclosure via unchecked shortcode ID
Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Authorization bypass in OceanWP Ocean Extra before 2.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary protected WordPress posts. The oceanwp_library shortcode accepts a caller-supplied post ID and returns that post's content without confirming that its status and type identify a permitted template. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to retrieve draft, private, or password-protected content through the WordPress AJAX shortcode parser.
