CVE-2023-0747Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unrestricted uploaded-file scripts

Published Feb 8, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025

Stored XSS in BTCPay Server before 1.7.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser via uploaded files. The file-storage response handler serves user-uploaded content without a restrictive Content-Security-Policy, allowing embedded script to run when opened. Exploitation requires public registration and a victim click, after which script executes with access to data and actions available in the victim's session.
