Folder-structure modification via missing nonce validation
Published Feb 8, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Wicked Folders 2.18.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to change folder structures via forged requests. The ajax_edit_folder function processes a state-changing request without valid nonce verification, causing the request to execute with an administrator's session. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link, and the demonstrated consequence is modification of the plugin's folder structure.
